The STAR ( S tudents T aking A cademic R esponsibility) Book keeps everything in one place – homework assignments, school info, and communication between teacher and parents.

Your child is responsible for bringing his/her STAR BOOK to school everyday! Please make sure the information and homework in the STAR BOOK is reviewed and then returned to the bookbag on a daily basis. Your help is appreciated.

CLASSROOM DISCIPLINE PLAN: So that every student can reach his/her potential in a positive educational climate, it is important that each student demonstrate self-control. Therefore, this plan will be in effect at all times.

 

CLASSROOOM RULES

1. Follow directions.

2. Listen carefully.

3. Show respect to all.

4. Take care of school property.

5. Behave in an orderly manner.

 

CONSEQUENCES

1. First Warning

2. Second Warning – Lose half of recess time

3. Third Warning – Lose all of recess/Call Parents

4. Fourth Warning – Office/ White Slip

****Severe Disruption – Immediately sent to Principal

 

REWARDS : To encourage students to follow the classroom rules, I will reinforce appropriate behavior with praises, positive notes and/or calls home, special privileges, and surprises.

 

HOMEWORK : Homework is given Monday through Thursday. The assignments and the necessary worksheets are in the S.T.A. R. BOOK (organizational binder). Return homework the next day. Absent students have 2-3 days to make up homework. A homework grade is given in reading, math, spelling, and language every grading period.

 

WEEKLY PROGRESS REPORT : THIS REPORT GOES HOME EVERY WEDNESDAY. RETURN IT ON THURSDAY. IT MUST BE SIGNED.

The Weekly Progress Report informs parents of their child's behavior for the week, test grades by subject, and missing homework.
